The Agave (pronounced uh·gaa·vay) suite is a private upper level suite with one queen bedroom, one private bathroom, living room with fireplace (one firelog provided), full kitchen (with stove/oven and fridge), private balcony, and frame tv. It can accommodate up to two adults, and one infant (up to two years of age). Please keep in mind this suite requires the use of stairs. For those interested in a relatively flat room layout, we'd recommend our Cholla, Creosote or Yucca listings.
JTH Tucson is a small inn lovingly nicknamed Posada, immersed in nature and available for overnight stays. The inn is made up of six private suites as well as over 5,000 sq ft of communal areas for all guests to enjoy. The unique nature of this inn allows us to offer self check-in for a private and immersive experience, while also having an on-site manager available for any questions or assistance you may need during your stay. Your private suite is designed to feel like home upon check-in, and to further that concept you’ll find that this is not a place with a “front desk” or a laminated binder of rules upon arrival. We are so grateful to welcome guests for a relaxed experience here in the Sonoran desert, a place our small team of three also calls home.
Our rural location borders the west side of Saguaro National Park in Tucson, AZ. Situated on 40 acres of land with a forest of Saguaro cactus, native plants, and an abundance of wildlife, this is a space to reflect, reset, and create.
When booking a suite, you will also have access to the shared areas at the JTH Tucson which include: a chef's kitchen, canyon pool (solar heated and best May through September), hot tub (heated to around 100 degrees), rooftop lounge, yoga room, dining patio with a charcoalgrill, fire pit (firewood is provided), and living room with a projector.
We provide a light in-room breakfast upon check-in which includes local teas, coffee, almond milk, and gluten-free nut based granola; and we highly recommend picking up groceries for other meals to bring to the inn to fully take advantage of the remote setting, chef's kitchen, and charcoal grill. We also provide private chef contacts as well as other vendor recommendations for added experiences such as massagesafter booking.
A few things to note:
If you're interested in booking the full space please email us ([email protected]). If you book all 6 suites independently, a buyout fee will be applied.
If you would like to do a commercial photoshoot on-site, bring a private vendor onsite for services outside of our recommended vendors list, or plan on hosting an event such as an elopement or wedding please let us know in advance as this affects pricing.
An incidental fee of $250/room per night may be charged for group stays of 3 or more rooms that are booked individually in an effort to maintain the quiet nature of the inn. For a group buyout with full privacy, please see the JTH Tucson listing.

The Inn is bordering Saguaro National Park West. The closest airport is Tucson International Airport TUS (45 minutes), & Phoenix PHX (1 hour 30 minutes). We'd recommend renting a car from the airport if you're not road tripping in to give you flexibility during your stay. Four wheel drive is recommended as we are located off of primitive dirt roads, but not required.

Our late arrival at the Inn was met with the cozy charm of the Agave suite, a perfect welcome after a long journey. Waking up to the sunlit desert views was pure magic. This oasis is ideal for anyone needing to reset, relax, and reconnect with nature. The pool and hot spring were incredible, making it one of our top Airbnb stays. The attention to detail in every corner of the Inn is impressive.Meeting Courtney was a highlight—she's incredibly kind and welcoming. We can't wait to return to this peaceful retreat!
The JTH Tucson is the most perfect desert retreat - we loved our stay so much. We stayed at the JTH Agave Suite in late May and were able to catch many of the cactus blooms (especially the beautiful Saguaro). Even when the inn was full, it still felt very private as we did not run in to many others on the property - many nights, we had the hot springs all to ourselves. One of my favorite things at the inn was the scrapbook outlining the history of the property and how Sarah & Rich transformed it in to what it is today. Every space is beautiful and cozy, and the views from the property are unmatched. The inn is right outside Saguaro National Park, so a short car ride to hikes with amazing views. We couldn't recommend it more, and we're planning to stay at the Joshua Tree location in the future.
Truly a desert oasis. Feels like you are at a private resort! Definitely will be back!
Absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return. Truly Tucson’s best kept secret!
My boyfriend and I had a magical and one of a kind experience at the JTH Tucson! It is a remote place and you are literally in the middle of the desert. This makes your stay that much more special and an unforgettable vacation. I truly recommend this space for anyone that is looking to unwind and take a break from their hectic lifestyle. This place helps you slow down and just enjoy the true beauty of nature. The hotel is created so that you can enjoy various spaces throughout the property. We even saw a family of deer 🦌 hanging out right outside our front stairs! Animal watching is part of the experience here as well. The design of the place is also remarkable! We stayed in the agave suite and we loved it because we were on the 2nd floor and had a direct view of the Saguaro desert.
Courtney is a gem! — a warm, attentive, and knowledgeable host. With the inn, Rich and Sara have created a special place where nature, rugged adventure, and casual luxury combine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A very peaceful and absolutely beautiful getaway if you’re looking to really escape from it all (yet still have WiFi) :) There are so many stunning little spaces to chill at the inn and grounds; the owners have very consciously crafted every corner of the inn and the cactus gardens are incredible. You’ll feel like you’re on your own most of the time, with the occasional guest or staff wandering by. Courtney the manager is just a text away though and is so responsive and friendly and will quickly tend to any questions or issues. Definitely be aware that this is a destination in its own bordering the Saguaro National Park and come prepared with some food supplies as markets or restaurants are quite a drive (and you won’t want to leave). The cafe at the Desert Museum is closest and actually quite good- recommend the museum too!
This place is as magical as it looks! This is our second stay here and we loved trying a new room and meeting new guests. We did a dinner with Chef Ezra (do yourself a favor and do it!) and spent a lot of time in Saguaro and Tucson Mountain Park. It is the perfect desert getaway. We stayed in the Agave Suite this time and loved the private roofdeck and full kitchen. Also, as a cacti nerd, the cacti in the courtyard are so fun to observe!
My stay at The Posada was absolutely beautiful. I stayed at The Agave room which was equipped with everything you could need to feel right at home. This room in particular was equipped with a kitchen and cooking supplies where we made our meals and had a beautiful living room full of entertainment such as coffee books to read, a fireplace to gather by, a Bluetooth speaker to play music, a television, and most importantly, a beautiful private balcony to catch some beautiful sun rises and sunsets. When I arrived, I had trouble getting into the communal area but Geneva was very quick and kind in answering my phone calls with any questions I had. She was extremely attentive and overall I am extremely satisfied with my experience here. If I find myself in Tucson again, I will definitely be staying here again and suggest you do too!
cannot exaggerate how magical this experience was! My husband and I stayed in the Agave suite and it was wonderful to have a private balcony for the gorgeous sunsets. There are so many little details in the space that make it feel very special. The scenery is also stunning and peaceful. Saguaro National Park is close by and has great hiking. Can't recommend visiting enough!
